【故事原文】
It was a great day for a picnic.
这是一个适合野餐的日子。
“What's this?” asked the father.
“那是什么？”爸爸问。
“It's a scruffy little dog,”said the mother.
“是一只脏兮兮的小狗”妈妈说。
“He looks hungry,” said the girl.
“它看起来很饿”女孩说。
“I think he wants to play,” said the boy.
“我觉得它想要玩”男孩说。
The children played with him and taught him to sit up.
孩子们和他一起玩，还教它怎样坐好。
They named him Willy. They kept playing until it was time to go.
他们帮它取名叫Willy，一直和它玩到该回家的时间。
“Let's take Willy home,” said the children.
“我们把Willy带回家吧”。
“No” said the father.
“不行”爸爸说。
“He must belong to somebody,” explained the mother, “and they would miss him.”
它一定有主人，妈妈解释说，"他们会想它的。"
On the way home the girl said, “Maybe Willy doesn’t belong to anybody.”
在回家的路上，女孩说，“也许Willy没有主人呢”
During the week all the family had Willy on their minds.
整整一个星期，全家人都把Willy放在他们的心上。
Saturday
周六
“Willy!” they all cried when he appeared.
当它出现的时候，他们大叫，“Willy！”
But Willy didn’t stop. Willy was in a big hurry.
但是Willy没有停下来。它快速地跑走了有人在追着。
"He has no collar. He has no leash,” said the dog warden.
“它没有项圈，也没有绳子”抓狗的人说，
"This dog is a stray. He doesn't belong to anybody.”
“这是只野狗，他没有主人。”
The boy took off his belt. “Here’s his collar," he said.
男孩抽出他的皮带，“这是它的项圈。”
The girl took off her hair ribbon.
女孩拿下她的发带。
“Here’s his leash,” she said.
“这是它的绳子，”她说。
“His name is Willy, and he belongs to us.”
“她叫Willy，它是我们的狗。”
They took Willy home.
帮Willy洗澡，然后…
And after that…
他们带Willy回家。
They introduced him to the neighborhood,where he met some very interesting dogs.
把它介绍给邻居们，在那里它遇见了许多有趣的狗。
And Willy settled in where he belonged.
Willy有自己的家了。
