The air surrounding us is important to everyone. Without air, we could not survive. Everyone understands that. But air is necessary in many other ways. For example, if we did not have air, there would be no sound, because sound travels through air. Without air, there would be no fire, because we cannot have fire without air. There would be no cars, since cars need air in order to run.

Without air, there would be no wind or clouds. There will be no weather. The night time would be very cold and the day time very hot.　　

In one word, we cannot live without air.

Air has no smell or taste. The kite and the plane can stay up in the air because they ride on air. And we need air to breathe. We need air to survive. It keeps us alive.  But now the air in Suzhou is very dirty. That’s air pollution. The air pollution comes from traffic, power stations and factories. To fight against the air pollution, we should ride bicycles and plant more trees. We can do something to prevent the smoke and dust from coming into the air. In that way, our city will be nicer and cleaner.
