Last week, I went to Guangzhou to attend the“Star of outlook English Talent Competition”. This is the final of the whole Guangdong.

There were two parts of this final. The first part was one minute speech. The topic was “I want to show China to the world”. Within this one minute, you had to finish your speech with a talent show. In the second part, the judges would ask you a question and give you two key words. You should answer the question with these two words.

I got the last number,41, so I was waiting, waiting and waiting in a room. Suddenly, a teacher came in and said: “Let’s go. It’s your turn!” “Really?” I took my sax and ran towards the stage.

But soon, I slowed down because I was still worried about my sax. A key didn’t work well. When I played my sax in the speech, It was so hard to play that key. Then I said to myself: “Martin, don’t give up! Keep holding on!” And in the second part, I answered the question well, but I forgot to use those two words.

Finally, I won the sixth place in this competition. The top five will go to Beijing to attend the final of the whole country. I feel a little bit disappointed. But I am already one of the best English speakers in Guangdong, aren't I? I think this competition is a precious experience. I have learned a lot of English in it. I will study English much harder in the future. English is an important language in the world. If I am good at English, I can communicate with foreigners easily. That is awesome!
